Job Summary
The Lead Process Engineer is responsible for the direction of the process engineering team, and optimizing manufacturing processes, both new and existing. This includes process maintenance, process development, and prototype manufacturing on medical device manufacture, and medical device packaging. This position will require the use of computers, normal office software, and effective communication with production.
Core Responsibilities
• Work assignment to direct reports.
• New product / process introduction into the facility.
• Work directly with customer's engineering group on product development.
• Perform equipment / process validations through IQ's, OQ's, and PQ's
• Generation of all related documentation (completion reports, work instructions, preventative maintenance schedules, FMEA's, Gage, R&R,ISO 13485 etc.) and release to production.
• Generation of documents for tooling and fixtures.
• Create ECO's for all changes to process and documents.
• Work with outside machine builders and material processes.
• Identify and lead cost saving initiatives amongst current processes.
• Identify KPI's that are able to identify process improvements.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining safety standards to OSHA and company requirements.
• Participate and/or manage special projects as required.
• Carry out any other reasonable task as requested by senior management.
Education/Experiences
• 4 year college degree in Engineering, or 10+years in manufacturing.
• Must be able to problem solve and analyze. Medical device packaging and sterile barrier packaging experience a must.
• Communication and interpersonal skills necessary.
• Necessary knowledge and skills in statistics, pFMEA's, FMEA's and ISO Quality systems.
• Sterile barrier packaging & in line thermoforming experience essential.
• Requires excellent computing skills, word, excel ,power point etc.
